Damp & Dreary Murder Attempt in Brighton

The desire for a couple of hours on the trails overcame my natural instincts to stay warm and dry. When we set off all was well, sunshine and a warm breeze; however this was not to last, the top of each hill was enveloped by thick damp mist carry rain and a cool breeze. By the time we were at the top of the first hill and realised how miserable it was it was too late, we were wet through. We headed from Patchham to Devil's Dyke via the footbridge across the A23, up Sweet Hill then East Hill before dropping into Saddlescombe and up to the Dyke. We cut short with a run through the Waterhall golf course where someone leaving the club house deliberately swerved their car into me and knocked me off. I reported it to the police who gave me an incident number and said they would speak to the staff at the golf course. Typical, a ride that rapidly became an endurance and then to cap it all knocked off the bike by a car. Sometimes it just pays to stay in bed!
